Pioneer Park Civic Center, registration starts at 10:30 and dog show is

Park for AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day sponsored by

Fairbanks Dog Park. GRRF will be holding a Canine Good Citizen Test!!!

Lots of fun doggie things to do!!

GRRF had a booth and ran a Canine Good Citizen Test which was a great

success! We tested 17 dogs and all pasted but one very lovely dog that

will try again at our next test. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers that

helped make this day such a great time: Peggy Kuryla, Cassandra

Pauley, Susan Sampson, Renner Eberlein, Kelly Boyle and her daughter.

Thank you to our kind dogs that assisted in the Good Citizen Test: Shania

Kuryla, Alice Pauley and Nugget Eberhart. Also a big thank you to the

Fairbanks Dog Park for putting on such a dog gone fun day!!

* GRRF Dog Wash Sunday, August 20th. GRRF will be having another

dog wash from 10:00 until 3:00! We will be washing "by appointment

only". Don't miss out on this great opportunity and call to reserve a spot

* Golden Days Parade July 22nd. This year's theme is "Pioneers and

Picnics". GRRF will be walking in the parade -- anyone who has adopted a

dog through GRRF is welcome to come walk with us! Or if you have a

golden or golden at heart dog you would like to show support with. If you

are interested in marching with us, please print a copy of the waiver, fill it

out, and turn it in at Aurora Animal Clinic. Instructions about the Parade

are on the Waiver paperwork. Please fill out a parental consent form

for minors and turn it in to the clinic as well. At the clinic there will be GRRF

t-shirts available. This event is always fun and our pups always enjoy the

The Golden Days Parade was a huge success. A big thank you and a job

well to Peggy Kuryla for the float decoration and costumes for the dogs

and people. Thank you too to Jerry and Andra Burns for driving the Float

and getting it all ready. Thank you to all the folks and dogs that walked!!

All the dogs were so friendly and got along fabulously. Such a great time!!!

* Mutt March Sunday, July 9th. The 6th annual Mutt March is being

hosted by Mutt Matchers. Golden Retriever Rescue will be conducting the

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN TEST! The march begins at 12:30 pm in the front

parking lot of Pioneer Park. Registration begins at 11:00 am. Entry Fee:

$5.00 per dog. There will be events following the march at the 'Moose

Creek' pavilion inside Pioneer Park. Come enjoy interactive games for

dogs, educational booths, vendors, concessions, and more!

We did 15 Canine Good Citizen tests and it was a blast! Thank you

to our dedicated volunteers: Peggy Kuryla, Andra Burns, Sean Sampson,

Amanda McKlveen, Renner and Scott Eberlein and Susan Sampson.

The GRRF Quilt was raffled off that the talented Kim Gyricsko made and

was won by Betty Cox in Anchorage. Way to go Betty!!

* GRRF Dog Wash Sunday June 11 at Auorora Animal Clinic. From

10:00 to 4:00. By appointment only. Please call or email us for a time.

nails trimmed. We need GRRF volunteers!!! Very fun event!!!!!

What an amazing success! Thank you to all of our volunteers and all

the families who contributed. There were 25 pups who had a big day

and left happy and clean!

* Fun Day in Anchorage Saturday June 3rd.

The Midnight Sun Golden Retriever Club hosted their annual Fun

Day at Waldron Park on June 3rd from 12:00 until 4:00. They

honored rescued goldens and crosses in a parade. GRRF was

there and with a fundraising booth. This is a very fun event and

there are lots of fun games to play with your golden, an agility

starter course and a silent auction.

GRRF representatives present were Andra and Jerry Burns with GRRF dog

Duke, Cassandra and Steven Pauley GRRF dog Alice, Susan and Sean

Sampson GRRF dog Ben. We were happy to see other GRRF dog there for

the Fun Day like, Hunny, Cowboy (Blaze), Jake, Rosie, Homer(Thor) and

Sampson. Thank you so much to the Midnight Sun Golden Retriever

Club for their invitation to come and enjoy the fun and for the wonderful

silent auction of golden goodies. They made our rescued golden and new

owners feel so special and gave very generous gift bags. Thank you all

* Dog Show Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, Sunday & Monday)

from 8:30 until 2:30. Tanana Valley Kennel Club Annual Memorial Day Weekend All Breed Dogshow is

held at the Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds in the Borealis Building. GRRF

has a booth and also man the front gate.

* Pets & People Day on Saturday, May 13th from 12:00 until 4:00.
