    Petey Bear  is about 1.5 years of age.  He is a neutered male, golden retriever /possibly chow cross.  He was given to a kindly young lady by her neighbor who could no longer care for him.  She tried to find him a good home as she could not keep him herself, even though he definitely made himself a place in her heart as well as her home.  GRRF was in Anchorage for Sampson 2 orthopedic vet. visit and the Golden Retriever Fun Day.  GRRF and Petey's wonderful rescuer Michelle came for the day.  We were very impressed with this boy.  Petey Bear got a ride home with Susan and Sean and two other dogs that weekend and he was a dream in the car.  In Fairbanks, Petey had his vet check done and his hips are beautiful.  A very loving couple had recently had to have their very old and well loved golden/chow cross to sleep just weeks before we got Petey.  We called them and they came immediately to see him and everyone hit it off well.  Petey went on trial and within two days the couple came back with wonderful stories of how well behaved this young gentleman is.  They happily adopted Petey Bear and changed his name to "Peter Brown".
