Jake 7 is a 6 year old, neutered male black labrador retriever. Jake was relinquished due to the ailing health of his owner. She has had to move to Arizona and will staying with relatives and is unsure of her living arrangements and finances. She has had Jake since he was a puppy and he has been exceptionally cared for. Jake started having seizures when he was three years old and his vet Dr. Steward and his owner have done a great job of regulating Jake. He is completely off Phenobarbital and is only on Potassium Bromide capsules which he takes twice a day. He has not had a seizure since Thanksgiving. Jake is in great heath otherwise. We have done current bloodwork, chest, abdomen and hip radiographs on Jake and everything looks great. Jake has no signs of arthritis and is very athletic and loves to play kong. He is in great shape and is the perfect weight. Jake really misses his mom and she has called to check on him. He is doing better now and getting along very well with other dogs and cats. He is a perfect gentleman in the house. He loves a car ride and whines a little but he just can't wait to get somewhere. Jake will go into a crate but really doesn't get into anything if left out. Jake has a lot of personality and knows lots of tricks. He is very mellow in the house but loves to go outside and play fetch! This is a handsome lab with loads to offer to a home that can handle an epileptic dog. UPDATE 8/8/05 Jake is just doing great in fostercare. He has been back and forth to two as vacations have come into play. Jake handles things very well and has no seizures. He is very easy to give medications to. He only gets one Potassium Bromide capsule on his food twice a day. Jake now loves to play with other dogs and is very active and loves to play ball especially with a soccer or basketball!! This handsome Lab has so much loyalty and love to offer. He is extremely fit and simply adores who he is with. He has excellent house manners and is very calm. He is great off leash and will fetch forever. This is a WONDERFUL LAB!!!!!!!!! Contact us at our email, info@grrf.org |
