                    Buddy 7

6/10/05

Buddy 7 is a 1 1/2yr old golden retriever/husky cross.  Buddy was picked up as a stray and taken to the Animal Shelter for his stray time.  Buddy had no id, tattoo or microchip.  No owner came forward to claim him.  Buddy was chained out on a dogbox and he had a terribly matted coat.  GRRF got Buddy out and had him neutered, tattooed, microchipped, vaccinated and his hips were x-rayed and look very good.  Buddy had a lengthy grooming and "wow" what a beautiful dog he is.  Buddy looks mostly all golden with a big light gold long coat and a white blaze on his face and toes.  Buddy is exceptionally calm and easygoing.  He gets along very well with other dogs and is just a "kind" dog.  He listens well but doesn't really seem to know much but is so willing to learn.  Buddy is just a pleasure to have in foster care and is very good in the house.  It would have been a shame to see this great family dog out on a chain.

Update 6/15/05

Buddy 7 went on trial and was adopted to a family that had adopted a very wonderful middle-aged golden retriever from GRRF a few years back.  He had since pasted away from cancer earlier in the year and they were looking at getting another gentle but younger golden.  Buddy 7 seemed just the right fit and he is doing great with them.  They are an exceptional family and really deserve a dog like this as they miss their old golden that tragically had his life cut short by a golden retriever's number one enemy- cancer.  We hope they will have Buddy for many years to come.  Buddy is currently vacationing and thoroughly enjoying the summer.
