April 25 2005 UPDATE Blondie, now Olie was on trial with a very nice couple that simply adored him. They had a long trial as they had rearranged plans for a long vacation that his first foster family and friends of theirs pet sat for them. Once back the husband loved to take Olie to work with him but lately his dog allergies seem to get the best of him. They had all the best intentions of adopting Olie but his allergies just caught up to him. They had spoiled him silly and he comes with loads of toys and chew toys. They did a fabulous job of socializing him. He acts like the retriever he should be now and is not shy at all. Olie loves to play with other dogs and adores everything in life. This is a very sweet natured boy and just a dear. Olie is now 6 months old and still a bit of puppy but the housebreaking is almost completely done. He is crate trained and very good in the house (with lots of toys to chew on). He is now big enough that we have x-rayed his hips and they look very good at this time. No signs of hip dysplasia or osteo arthritis. Since he is young our vets palpated his hips as well and they appear very tight on both sides. This is very good news!!
Feb 2005 Blondie is a 4 month old male, Golden Retriever/Malamute. Both he and his sister are very shy but are coming out of their shells nicely. They have very gentle natures like their mom Puff. Both are fairly large and will be much larger than their mother. Blondie or Bond is very submissive and loves to roll over for a belly rub. He needs a fun and positive family to really bring out his potential. He loves to snuggle and learning so fast. These two kids have really come a long way very quickly in two days. We think they will may outstanding family dogs given time and consistency. Very dear dogs!!!!! Bond is now neutered, vaccinated, wormed and tattooed. See his sister's story for more details too. |
