 SUNNY 4

12/3/05

Sunny 4 (the forth Sunny we have had) is about 1 year of age.  He is a golden retriever cross with possibly a chow, husky or Pyrenees.  He was relinquished to the Animal Shelter as the owner gave him to his father as he could no longer care for him and the father didn't have the time either.  This was what we thought to be the most adoptable dog at the shelter and they had some interest in him but no one took Sunny home.  After two weeks and being Pet of the Week still didn't bring a new home for Sunny.  GRRF got him out and he was neutered, vaccinated , tattooed and his hips are fine.  Whatever he is, is just adorable.  He loves everything and is perpetually happy.  This little man is very fun to be around!!  Sunny is only 55 pounds and has a heavy coat but that should shed out a bit as he is loving being an inside dog.  He is crate trained and is learning obedience skills.

NOTE:  The day after GRRF got Sunny out, a lady that had been looking at him went to the shelter to see him and learned he was gone and that we had him.  She contacted us and we had a great visit.  She was very happy to learn that he was housebroken and was very good in the crate.  We loaned her a crate, a long line and she took him on trial.  After just a few days it was a done deal and Sunny was adopted and he is doing very well in his new home.  She is so happy to know the shelter kept him for so long and that when his time was up that GRRF got him.  She has thanked us and wrote a beautiful note to the Animal Shelter thanking them for all the work they did trying to help Sunny find his "forever home".
