July 21, 2004: Sister is an 18-month old Lab/Golden Retriever cross. Her former owner originally got her from a lady giving away puppies at Safeway. We have a sneaking suspicion that Jake 5 may be her brother. They have very similar personalities and their ages are so close. Sister marched with GRRF in the Golden Days Parade on Saturday July 24th and she was wonderful. She has a very outgoing personality and adores people, dogs, cats and children. She literally thought all the people on the sidelines were there to pet her. A few months ago, Sister fell out a truck only going 30 miles an hour but still she broke her hip in two places. Fortunately for her it was still in position and her hip sockets were not affected. She has healed with a tenure of time and cage rest. Riding loose in the back of a pickup truck is not only illegal but very dangerous to the dog and to the drivers behind you. Sister's former owners learned the hard way how dangerous this act can be. Sister has made a complete recovery and she should have no long term problems related to her accident. She is spayed, vaccinated, wormed, tattooed. Sister would be a great family dog with an active family. She seems to be able to handle chaos and very stimulating circumstances with grace and pleasure. This is a lovely dog!
