Rocco (now "Cedar")

Adopted 5-24-2004

June 2, 2004 update: We officially adopted ROCCO- "CEDAR" on May 24th,2004 and would like to
thank everyone for their proffesional, courteous, helpful input. We changed Rocco's name so as to get a more positive response and we have enjoyed his enthusiasum, his heart of gold, and his puppy-like disposition. CEDAR is a bit more "lively" than our old (15 yr.) "CUSTER" was near the end - (understatement) but as we will shortly become "empty-nesters", he is
just the medicine that will keep us active and involved.

The plan for winter includes skijohr trails with Heidi and CEDAR running the loops at Creamers.

I applaud the efforts or your organization and intend to invite others to participate in this mission to give dogs a second chance for a good home.

Thank you again. Heidi and Michael Supkis

May 30, 2004 update:  Rocco is adopted to a family who recently lost their very elderly golden and were waiting for the right time to bring in a new family member. Rocco seemed like a good candidate and they took him home for a trial and just loved him. He had some pretty big shoes to fill coming after the old golden but he progressed very well and is so loving and adoring. He is just what they were missing and looking for in another golden. This is a patient and loving home and Rocco dearly deserves them. They have changed his name to Cedar and he is responding very well to a fresh beginning

May 7, 2004: Rocco is a rather shaggy purebred Golden Retriever. He is 15 months old and has been through two families. He has been outside a lot which accounts for his extra coat. Rocco is neutered, tattooed, vaccinated, had his hips x-rayed (they look great) and he has now had a serious grooming. More photos of his gorgeous makeover to come. Rocco is a very big puppy and needs some obedience work but really just a very sweet and "soft" minded boy. It hardly takes a correction to tell him anything as he is a sensitive soul--only a gentle hand is needed.

Rocco is very loving and compliant with people and children. He likes to chase cats but only in fun. He has a scar under his left eye from a unfriendly neighbor dog where he was before and he is timid at first with other dogs until he realizes that they are friendly. He and GRRF Brandi got along very well. He was afraid of his foster family's 4yr old golden for short time and then warmed up. Once you see his makeover you will see what a beautiful boy he is!
