Rebel 3 is a two yr old, neutered male, Golden Retriever. He is extremely soft minded and gentle. His owner brought him to Alaska from the lower 48 when they came with the military. His owner has been deployed for one year and his wife and children have left Alaska and left Rebel and the cat behind. His owner in Iraq has relinquished Rebel as he is unsure where he will live or go after his deployment and wants a wonderful home for Rebel. Rebel has been in fostercare for a while as he has had medical issues that now seem resolved. He had entropion (excessive skin on lower eyelids that rub on his eye) on both eyes and he could hardly open his eyes all the way. While under anesthetic for his neuter, he had his first cosmetic entropion surgery done. One month later he had his second surgery as there was still skin rubbing and causing a corneal ulcer. His ears were horribly infected and needed flushed and treated. Rebel had to wear an Elizabethan Collar and he continued to try and scratch out his stitches. His foster mom is an amazing sole that really took Rebel under her wing and did a stellar job of medicating and bringing Rebel in for many Veterinary checkups. Rebel is now all healed and on a special hypoallergenic dog food. Z/D due to what we suspect is a food allergy. He looks wonderful and his hips are good but he has an undershot bite and one of his lower canine teeth sticks out and gives him an irresistible grin. Rebel has been raised with a cat and small children. He gets along very well with other dogs and is very adoring and a "love sponge"! Contact us at our email, info@grrf.org |
