These good looking boys are purebred Labrador Retrievers. They are 9 1/2 weeks old and very healthy and stout little guys. Their parents were a chocolate and yellow lab and all the puppies were black (black is the dominate color gene). The breeders couldn't find homes for these last two boys so they ended up with us at GRR. Lately the color choice of labs is Chocolate and then Yellow. We like to think it is what is on the inside that counts. Statistically there are more black labs in the nation that any other breed. Happily, these breeders are now spaying their dogs and have learned that it is sometimes very hard to place 8-10 puppies in good homes. Also the females of the litter go first. Male retrievers are the more gentle of the breed. They are usually more easy going but can be slow to mature and stay "goofy" kids for a while. These guys have been neutered, had their first vaccines, been tattooed and have been wormed. They will be big labs as they are huge for their age. Onyx is a big baby that tries to act brave and Oreo is the cuddler. He loves attention and to be held, which can't happen for much longer, so get one now while the hugs are hot! |
