OLIVIA

1/25/09 - Olivia came from the Matsu Animal Shelter in Palmer.  She was a stray that was wandering house to house trying to get someone to let her in.  She ended up on a porch and the family called Animal Control and by the time they arrived there were 8 pups in tow with Olivia. Two GRRF volunteers were in Anchorage looking at dogs and saw Olivia.  Her pups were seven weeks old and looked like fuzzy black labs.  They were all getting adopted but no one was looking at Olivia.  We thought she was adorable and very affectionate.  Olivia is about one year old and the shelter gave her, her first vaccines and microchip.  She still had a lot of milk left so it took a few weeks to get her in to be spayed here in Fairbanks.  Olivia stayed in a hotel in Anchorage with the volunteers and was a gem.  She is very outgoing and kind.  She loves other dogs and walked through the airport with ease.  By the time her flight arrived she had learned sit and down.  She is very bright and lovely retriever.  We think she is mostly lab and maybe a little golden.  She is now spayed and her hips are fine.  She is tattooed and her vaccines are all up to day.  Olivia is the type of dog that makes a great family dog. She is doing very well in fostercare and has so much expression and personality!
