  Nellie is an 8 year old spayed female, Golden Retriever.  Her owner left her at the local Animal Shelter because they were moving.  Nellie was severely matted and her eyes were dried shut with discharge.  The shelter called GRRF and got her into

Aurora Animal Clinic for a complete Veterinary workup.  She got a well needed bath, groom and her eyes were treated and tacked open with sutures.  She is hypothyroid and had been off medication.  Her other blood work was normal as were her x-rays.  Nellie is on thyroid medication, antibiotics, eye drops and is on a diet dog food.  Nellie weighted 113 pounds.  Now a week plus later and far less hair,  she weighs 106.  She is felling so much better.  Nellie is a very happy girl that never complains.  Even at the start she was wagging her tail and blissfully happy.  this is a very kind and loving golden with loads of personality.  She loves to ride in the car and go places with you.  She is very patient with other dogs and even plays with puppies.  This dog is an absolute ANGEL!!
