 LEO

1/7/06

Leo is an 8 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Golden Retriever cross.  He looks mostly Chessie but only weighs about 50 pounds.  He is now neutered, tattooed, vaccinated and his hips have been x-rayed and look great.  Leo was relinquished by his owner as they had three children and a baby.  Although Leo was GREAT with the kids he could bump into the baby and knock her down.  The wife adored him but the husband was worried that the house was just too small.  Leo is crate trained and has his own kennel.  He gets very excited to play with new dogs that he just annoys them by playing too much.  Leo has learned in foster care that there are limits to play and he is behaving very well around them now.  He just "tries too hard".  Leo is very kind and soft minded dog like Chessie's are.  He needs a patient home with or with other dogs.  He does like to chase cats and thinks they are the best playmates but this annoys the poor cats too.  Leo knows not to jump up on you and knows sit and lay down.  He had hardly ever been on  leash and was very afraid of it.  Now, Leo walks quite nicely and loves going for car rides.  Leo is an extremely quick learner and his desire to please is very strong.  He is a total sweetheart and goof all at the same time!!!!
