 HAZEL

UPDATE

2/1/06  Hazel was sadly returned from an extended trial.  Her potential new owner absolutely adored her but she lives in a rental with the landlord above her.  He said Hazel barked when she heard someone.  We worked on this and Hazel did great.  Now he said he can hear the dog move around downstairs and that she had to go.  As a single mom, she can not afford to move at this time and tearfully brought Hazel back.  Hazel came back with even more training and we know she is fabulous with children.  She lavished in attention at slumber parties and is very good in her kennel when left alone.  The initial barking when left alone is now gone and Hazel is well adjusted.  Hazel is a very calm and dear dog.  She is a beautiful dog with a gorgeous coat.  Her trial mom left her a big wire kennel, food, toys and lots of things to pack in her suitcase for her new home.

12/10/05  Hazel was found as a stray in Delta 6 months ago.  We are guessing that she is a golden retriever/australian shep. cross and is about 1.5 years of age.  The family that had Hazel looked everywhere for her owner and thought about keeping her but could no longer as they already had a house full of dogs.  She is already spayed and is up to date on her vaccines.  Hazel is a gentle soul type of dog.  She is very calm but still a teenager, she chews when left alone.  Hazel is getting used to being a big wire kennel when left alone and she is doing great.  We think in her permanent home, Hazel will graduate out of the kennel within months.  Hazel adores children and is good with other dogs and very good with cats.  She has the most gorgeous coat that is so soft and she keeps herself very clean.  Hazel is learning some obedience and is walking nicely on a leash.   Hazel has had her hips x-rayed and they are very good and she is in excellent shape.
