4/4/07  Chewbacca is a Labrador/German Wirehaired Pointer.  He looks like a wirehaired Lab and is extremely cute!  Chewbacca was originally purchased by a family from an ad in the newspaper.  They family had children that Chewbacca jumped up on and since he wasn't housebroken they tied him up outside with a handkerchief and a shoestring.  He was is a yard downtown that many folks saw or heard the puppy's cries.  A very wonderful young lady who worked at the DawgWash in the neighborhood asked if she could help get the pup back in the house.  She offered to fix the fence but it was very damaged.  They sold the pup to her and she gave the pup to GRRF.  Chewbacca is about 11-12 weeks old and is now neutered, tattooed, vaccinated and microchipped.  He is started on crate training and is a very loving and outgoing pup.  He comes with coupons for free cleaning at the DawgWash so his rescuer can see him occasionally.  Chewy adores people and is learning his puppy basic manners.  He is a very good pup with loads of personality and is very active.  His coat is short and coarse and should be very easy to care for.  Chewbacca needs a home that has the time and training commitment for a young Labs needs.  He is extremely smart and needs exercise for his mind as well as his body.
