Charlie 3 is an 11 year old, neutered male, Golden Retriever.  Charlie ended up at the Animal Shelter in Kenai last friday as his owner could not longer care for him.  The Kenai shelter called GRRF and arranged for a very kind lady named Gwen to drive him to Anchorage to Andra, Jerry and Susan from GRRF who were there for the Golden Fun Day.  Charlie has loads of personality and really had a time of it at the Fun Day.  Charlie got along very well with all dogs he meant and that was 20 plus dogs.  Charlie rides very well in a car and is quite playful for his age.  Charlie is exceptionally handsome and in great shape weight wise at 86.9 pounds.  He had is vet check done on Tue this week here in Fairbanks.  Charlie's bloodwork is all normal.  He has some slight arthritis on one hip and has a cruciate ligament repair on his opposite knee.  He has some arthritis in his shoulder and back but no one has told Charlie.  He gets around quite well and moves with ease.  His teeth look great and his ears are skin are gorgeous.  He has very limited sight in his right eye that has a large cataract but can see very well out his left and his hearing is fine.  Charlie is quite the crowd pleaser and loves attention and treats.  He has very good manners and is just a doll of a dog.  We are very  appreciative of the Kenai Animal Shelter and the Vet clinic that referred him and to Gwen for getting Charlie to us.  He is a pleasure to be around and so much to offer.
