The Fairbanks Autumn 5 Lab Puppies - Amber (Ritz)

Puppy Ritz

October 20, 2004 e-mail from Ritz (now Amber) : Woofers to my hero rescue family!  My new family has decided to call me "Amber" ...something about me being a beatiful color, like a jewel...yadda yadda yadda.  As long as I'm treated like a beautiful jewel, they can call me whateve they want!

I'm really getting used to my new home.  I go aaaaaaall over it by myself now.  I know where to find all the best shoes and reading material.  I don't know why my new mom took the John Grisham paperback and the Archie & Jughead comic out of my kennel - I was gonna read those!

I tried to help out my new boys by eating their homework, but they figured their teachers wouldn't believe them so they took it away from me.    I poop & pee outside more and more now.  Mostly cause now I get a delicious little salmon flavored treat if I do!  Mmmmm! I still have some accidents inside, but hey, I gotta keep my new people on their toes.  Speaking of toes, those are so much fun to attack & I have 40 of them here to pounce on!

Last night I got to meet my doggie cousin "Pippin".  Pippin is a cockapoo but he's bigger than me so he was able to pin me pretty quick.  We got along great, but just wait til I'm bigger than him.  Won't HE be surprised!     Well, gotta go before I get carpal paw syndrome!

October 16, 2004:  Ritz's Big Trip to Anchorage and Her New Home.  Ritz helped with the drive from Fairbanks to Anchorage on a glorious fall day.

Cute Ritz frolicking and exploring the fun trail between the Veteran's Memorial and Byer's Lake with her big dog buddies (3 photos, below).

Ritz was a big hit with her new family, as they were with her!  When I figure out how to process out the "red eye" that flash photography produces, I'll post a wonderful picture of the whole family!

Roxy and Ritz are the small dark yellow pups and very difficult to tell apart.  They are the "wonder twins" and are the most outgoing and playful.

October 8, 2004:  These cuties are 8 week old Lab puppies.  Their owner relinquished them to GRRF.  They had gotten their mother, Sasha an 18 month old black Lab with AKC papers from an ad in the newspaper and she came already pregnant.  Sasha is a very beautiful and dear black lab.  She was a wonderful mom to seven puppies.

The owners are keeping two pups one yellow male and the only black pup a female.  GRRF is assisting them in getting the siblings spayed/neutered and mom spayed in 2 weeks and getting her hip x-rayed too.  The owners had tried to place two puppies but got them returned and realized how much work was involved.  They worried about being able to find very good homes for the puppies that they had taken very good care of for the past 8 weeks.  They also realized how much work seven puppies can be.  They need to be commended for the exceptional care they took of these puppies.

These are very clean and very social puppies.  They have been in the house and are used to sounds and love people!!!

Faye is the largest female with the lightest yellow coat.  She is very easy and just wants to play and get along.

Faith is the smallest light yellow and is a big pushover.  She loves attention but is not the bravest pup.  She just rolls over and bares her belly for anything.  She is incredibly endearing.

Charlie is the only male.

All of the pups have had a complete Vet. check, had their first vaccine and are wormed.  They will be spayed and neutered next week and will then be available for adoption.

Please only the very serious and committed families need apply.  These are great pups and need homes that will understand the requirements for time, training and attention that these kids will take.

Contact us at our email, info@grrf.org if you are ready for the love and commitment of a puppy!
